Hannah Class of 2020 | Hereford, Maryland | Senior Photographer

I met Hannah last November when her mom contacted me to shoot a very special and sentimental Sweet 16 session. A Milestone session of her girls she affectionately calls the “almost triplets.” You can see that session here. It still ranks up there as one of the highlights of my 2018 shooting season because of the beautiful natural interactions between the three girls. We had so much fun! I was excited to meet Hannah for her senior session last week. She is among the graduating class of 2020 at Hereford High School! Hannah has aspirations of being a Special Education teacher (which is near and dear to my heart) and she hopes to study at Towson University after graduating.

We met on a Friday evening at the Hampton National Historic Site and chased the light until sunset. Enjoy the gallery of lifestyle images from our session below.

My goal in a senior session runs much deeper than capturing the senior at the end of their high school journey. I desire to capture the beauty and strength of my senior client and help them shine. Hannah thank you for walking alongside me and trusting me to capture these images! Best of luck this yearl. I cannot wait to see where life takes you!

Smithberger Family | Towson, Maryland | Family Lifestyle Photographer

You’ll need coffee shops and sunsets and road trips. Airplanes and passports and new songs and old songs, but people more than anything else. You will need other people and you will need to be that other person to someone else, a living breathing screaming invitation to believe better things.

I had the privilege of photographing my sweet friend Andrea and her beautiful family on a warm, cloudy day a couple of weeks ago. She is one of those friends described in the above quote that I have needed over the last few years. You can read more of her story and her insightful writing on her blog “How the Light Gets In.” Our story is one only God could write and it is another example of how He orchestrates things far beyond our understanding. Her family has become absolutely dear to me.

I want to share a snippet of the story of how God brought us together a little over 5 years ago. When our oldest was getting ready to attend Ridgely Middle School, Wes and I approached the Young Life (YL) area director about starting a division of YL in the middle school called WyldLife. When we met with him he encouraged us to pray about this ministry because he really felt like God was doing something in the community. Little did we know another Ridgely parent had approached him about the same thing:) You see Andrea’s oldest daughter wanted something like YL at her school so Andrea set up a meeting with the YL area director. Since that initial meeting we have prayed, launched and watch God grow WyldLife in a way that is difficult to comprehend.

Walking through life with Andrea and watching the way she and Jason lead not only their family but their friends has been an inspiration. I hope as you look through this gallery of pictures from our time together you see their love and joy-filled spirit shine through the most…

Amato Sunset Anniversary Session | Towson, Maryland

After the long, cold, grey winter, I long for warmer days with beautiful light.  Thankfully BJ and Sam were up for a last minute anniversary session on a beautiful day in early April.  BJ and Sam are dear friends of ours from church.  We met BJ over 5 years ago when he and Wes were on a worship team together.  Since then we have shared meals and great conversation with these two, and are truly blessed by their friendship.

The Hampton Mansion was the perfect place to catch the sunset before it dipped below the horizon.  BJ and Sam your love for one another was palpable.  You can see it through these images.  Thank you for making my job easy!  Happy 1 year Anniversary!

Song Family | Towson Maryland

I met the Song Family on a blustery, cold day this fall.  They spent time taking turns with blankets and coats to stay warm in between pictures.  I always walk away feeling uplifted after being with this family...we laugh, work together to create and we always end the session with a jumping shot between the two youngest girls.
